Raimundo Nonato, a 51-year-old man, was tragically killed in a knife attack in the Honorato Community, situated in the Riozinho Cruzeiro do Vale region of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, last Tuesday. According to the local Military Police, they were alerted and arrived at the crime scene by boat around 11:15 PM. The police reported that Nonato's body was discovered in a boat used for transporting goods, indicating the incident's rural setting and the challenges in accessing the location for emergency responders.

The police investigation points to a 24-year-old male suspect who has not yet been apprehended. Neither the victim nor the suspected assailant lived within the riverside community, complicating the ongoing search efforts. Following the crime, law enforcement conducted searches in local residences and properties, leading to the discovery of firearms and ammunition materials in an abandoned house belonging to the alleged perpetrator. These items were seized and taken to the police station as evidence.
