Carnival 2026: see the streets closed in Campo Grande
The Municipal Transport and Traffic Agency has announced street closures in Campo Grande for Carnival 2026 to enhance safety for participants and motorists.
The Municipal Transport and Traffic Agency (Agetran) has released a schedule of street closures for Carnival 2026 in Campo Grande, which will take effect from February 11 to February 21. This initiative aims to ensure the safety of both drivers and revelers during the city's various parades and block parties. The biggest disruptions will occur around key areas such as Praça do Papa, Avenida Calógeras, Avenida Mato Grosso, and various streets in the city center.
Agetran advises road users to pay attention to temporary signage and to follow the directives of traffic agents during this festive period. With the predicted increase in crowds, drivers are encouraged to plan alternative routes to avoid significant traffic congestion. This proactive approach aims to minimize disruptions and facilitate easier navigation for those attending events and local activities.
In addition to detours, Agetran has issued reminders for safe driving during Carnival, urging motorists to adhere to speed limits and to refrain from drinking and driving. Revelers are also encouraged to make plans in advance, promoting the use of public transport or ride-sharing applications whenever possible to further enhance safety and reduce the likelihood of accidents during the festivities.
