The European Union (EU) is currently facing unprecedented challenges as the multilateral international order, particularly as founded by the United Nations, is under direct threat. The article critiques the strategy of appeasement towards Donald Trump, which has been demonstrated in various international meetings and negotiations. This approach has not only failed to alter Trump’s erratic and hostile stance but has paradoxically deepened Europe’s strategic vulnerabilities, leading to unacceptable compromises regarding Ukraine and a declaration of conflict against the EU as articulated in the United States' National Security Strategy. Trump’s invitation to return to a 'Europe of nations' includes forming alliances with far-right populist movements across the continent.
