Twelve individuals have been charged with manslaughter concerning the death of Simon Dobbin, a Cambridge United fan who was seriously injured during an altercation after a football match in 2015. The incident took place outside the Railway Tavern pub in Southend, Essex, following a match against Southend United on March 21 of that year. Mr. Dobbin suffered permanent brain damage as a result of the assault, leading to a long-term care situation until he eventually succumbed to his injuries five years later, in October 2020.
