The Federal Police of Cruzeiro conducted a significant operation targeting a criminal group involved in interstate drug trafficking between the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. On Wednesday, October 11th, the operation led to the arrest of two individuals, as well as the identification of locations used by the group for illegal activities. Raids were executed in several cities including São Paulo, Resende, and Itatiaia, showcasing a coordinated effort across state lines.

During the operation, the police discovered a clandestine laboratory used for the preparation and distribution of drugs located in Diadema, where various materials and equipment were seized. The investigation had begun following two cocaine seizures earlier in 2024, which revealed that those involved in the trafficking were using front companies to launder the proceeds from their illegal operations. This indicates a sophisticated approach to their criminal enterprise, further complicating law enforcement efforts.

The operation involved the participation of over 60 police officers, highlighting the seriousness of the threat posed by such organized crime groups. By disrupting their supply chain and arresting key individuals, the Federal Police aim to diminish the overall drug trafficking operations that have been spreading between these two key Brazilian states.
