Snow pile collapsed tightly on top of a person in Jyväskylä

A dangerous incident occurred in Jyväskylä when a snow pile collapsed on an adult while a child was rescued from an ice cave beneath it.

In Jyväskylä, a serious incident took place at the parking area of a local daycare school, where a snow pile collapsed onto an adult. The snow mound was located near a ditch and partially over it, creating a hazardous situation. A small child had ventured into a small cave formed in the snow, prompting an adult to rescue the child. Fortunately, the child was unharmed and rescued safely from the snow cave.

However, while the adult was still under the snow pile, it collapsed on top of them, leaving only their head visible. Bystanders called for help, and police arrived first on the scene, assisting in manually freeing the person from the snow mound. Emergency medical services examined the adult, who fortunately did not sustain significant injuries, highlighting the potentially dire consequences of such accidents.

The local fire department's role was to cordon off the area with tape and inform the daycare school about the danger posed by the snow pile to prevent further incidents. This situation serves as a reminder of the hazards associated with winter conditions, particularly in areas where snow accumulates near playgrounds and children's activities.
