'We want to be a bridge between the artist and the public': Proarte, the foundation that promotes exhibitions and supports emerging talent

Proarte is a foundation in Ecuador created to connect artists with the public and increase the visibility of emerging talent.

Founded in 2022 by art collector Xavier Castro in Samborondón, Proarte aims to bridge the gap between talented artists and the audience. Public relations officer Sébastien Mélières emphasized that while Ecuador has a wealth of fabulous artists, many struggle for visibility, spending hours in their studios without the opportunity to showcase their works. This foundation intends to change that scenario by providing a platform for these artists to present their creations.

Proarte is currently managing various cultural events and exhibitions at the Piece of Cake gallery and has also operated the gallery at the Guayaquil Country Club. Through these venues, Proarte has organized more than 60 exhibitions, showcasing over 400 artworks and giving numerous emerging artists the chance to be seen and appreciated. Their ongoing efforts include cultural activities that foster artistic expression and community engagement.

With its initiatives, Proarte not only elevates the profiles of individual artists but also enhances the cultural landscape of Ecuador. The foundation's commitment to nurturing talent and creating spaces for artistic exchange highlights the importance of community support in fostering the arts. As the foundation continues to grow, it seeks to further strengthen connections between creators and the public, ultimately enriching the local art scene.
