Verónica Jurado presents the storybook ‘Flight to Childhood’ today in Guayaquil
Verónica Jurado will present her first book, ‘Flight to Childhood,’ a collection of stories for both children and adults, in Guayaquil, featuring a sensory experience with live readings and activities.
Verónica Jurado, a writer and expert in family guidance, literature, and yoga, will unveil her debut book, ‘Flight to Childhood,’ which is a collection of stories aimed at both children and adults. The launch event will take place in Guayaquil and is designed as a sensory experience that includes live readings, music, mandala painting, and mindfulness exercises. Set in the Semgroup Art space, this event aims to promote the arts and cultural managers.
The inspiration for ‘Flight to Childhood’ arose from the birth of Jurado’s first grandchild, prompting her to reflect on themes of legacy and emotional memory. In her words, "Childhood is not lost; sometimes it just falls asleep," highlighting the book’s exploration of empathy, play, and presence. This notion suggests a deeper connection to childhood experiences and invites readers to revisit the simplicity of those early years.
Published by Marea Luminia, ‘Flight to Childhood’ also features illustrations influenced by the aesthetic of the 1980s, adding a nostalgic layer to the reading experience. Jurado’s work seeks to resonate with readers and encourage them to reconnect with their own childhoods through both storytelling and interactive activities during the launch event.
