In her Olympic debut, biathlete Tereza Vinklárková achieved an impressive eleventh-place finish in the 15 km endurance race at Anterselva. Competing in her first Olympic event, Vinklárková replaced the unfit Markéta Davidová in the Czech relay team and showcased her skill by hitting 19 out of 20 targets. This marked a significant improvement from her previous best ranking in World Cup events, where she had only managed to place thirty-ninth.
The race was won by France's Julia Simon, who captured her first individual Olympic medal, a gold, following her earlier gold performance in the mixed relay. Simon's victory came with a time of 53.1 seconds ahead of her teammate Lou Jeanmonnot, who took home silver, while Bulgaria's Lora Christova secured the bronze. Vinklárková's finish and performance signify a promising future for her in biathlon at the Olympic level.
