PAMI: Patagonian clinics warned that they are restricting services and the social security agency says all payments will be up to date tomorrow

Patagonian clinics have begun to restrict services due to ongoing payment disputes with PAMI, although the social security agency claims payments will be settled soon.

Healthcare providers in Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa, and Chubut have initiated service restrictions for PAMI affiliates due to unresolved issues regarding payment rates. On the 4th of this month, these providers informed the PAMI director, Esteban Leguizamo, about their concerns regarding the financial compensation for their services, which they believe is overdue.

The protest began to manifest on Tuesday, impacting services across the mentioned provinces, as clinics and health centers started limiting their operations. Despite sending out notification letters regarding this action, healthcare providers are continuing to insist on better compensation for their services after having received partial payments just the day before. This situation raises concerns for PAMI-affiliated patients who rely on these services for essential healthcare needs.

In response to the situation, PAMI has assured that all pending payments will be cleared soon. They indicated that payments for the relevant services were processed on Tuesday and they expect all accounts to be settled by tomorrow. This standoff highlights the ongoing struggle between healthcare providers and the social security agency, emphasizing the urgent need for negotiation to ensure uninterrupted healthcare for retirees and pensioners in the region.
