A Blow from Sweden Against Finland's Olympic Outfit โ Now the Response Has Come: 'The Group Looks at You from Head to Toe'
Finnish Olympic athletes respond to Swedish stylist Sebastian Hammarberg's harsh criticism of their team outfit, which he rated poorly in a public statement.
In a recent critique published in Aftonbladet, Swedish stylist Sebastian Hammarberg gave Finland's Olympic team outfit a low score of one out of five, arguing that the long padded vest resembles something one would wear to a company event rather than a festive occasion. His comments have sparked a reaction from Finnish athletes, who feel differently about the outfit's appearance and functionality.
Suvi Minkkinen, a star from Finland's biathlon team, expressed her astonishment at the negative review, suggesting that individual opinions are subjective and should not overshadow the athletes' experiences. She emphasized that when they wear the outfit, people do indeed pay attention to them from head to toe, suggesting it is eye-catching and capable of impressing spectators.
Fellow team member Sonja Leinamo also defended the outfit, calling it very beautiful and stylish. Interestingly, Minkkinen referenced a humorous video the team produced, showcasing their outfits, implying that Hammarberg may not have seen it, which might explain his harsh critique. The incident highlights the differing perspectives on sports attire and the pride athletes take in their uniforms, irrespective of external opinions.
