Finnish singer Marita Taavitsainen has received fines for speeding again, admitting that it was indeed speeding during an overtaking maneuver.

Marita Taavitsainen, a 57-year-old Finnish singer, found herself in legal trouble once again for speeding, stating to Iltalehti, "It was speeding." This incident occurred on November 24th in Nurmijärvi, where Taavitsainen was caught driving at 143 kilometers per hour in a 100-kilometer zone, as noted by radar indications. The singer explained that the speed limit had recently changed from 120 to 100 kilometers per hour, but she failed to adjust her speed accordingly during an overtaking situation.

Authorities deemed her actions as reckless, posing a danger to the safety of others on the road. Consequently, Taavitsainen received a penalty of 24 daily fines for endangering traffic safety, amounting to a total fine of 144 euros. Since this sum was under the maximum traffic violation fine of 200 euros for her situation, an additional APR surcharge of 56 euros was added, bringing the total to 240 euros when including the crime victim fee.

This incident marks the third time Taavitsainen has faced speeding fines within a year, suggesting a troubling pattern for the singer. Her repeated offenses raise concerns about her adherence to road safety regulations, bringing public attention to the implications of celebrity behavior on driving safety standards and the expectations for accountability among public figures in Finland.
