Jokerit and Jukurit exchanged players
In an SM-liiga player trade, Mikkelin Jukurit and Helsinki Jokerit swapped goalkeepers.
On Wednesday, a player trade took place in the SM-liiga involving Mikkelin Jukurit and the Helsinki Jokerit, which currently competes in the Mestiksen league. The trade agreement was announced on the teams' official websites. Goalkeeper Eetu Anttila is moving from Jukurit to Jokerit, while Sisu Heikkeri will head in the opposite direction from Jokerit to Jukurit. This transaction will remain in effect until the end of the season, after which both goalkeepers are expected to return to their respective teams.
Eetu Anttila, 26, who has been plagued by injuries in recent years, has not played a single game this season. Last season, he appeared in only four matches for Jukurit and played one game for TUTON in the Mestiksen league. His transfer to Jokerit may provide an opportunity for him to regain form, although his recent lack of game time raises questions about his current fitness and readiness for the competition.
On the other hand, Sisu Heikkeri, who is 21 years old, has actively participated in 12 matches this season in the Mestiksen league with a save percentage of 87.9%. His move to Jukurit can be seen as a strategic step to bolster their goaltending options as they continue the season and aim for better outcomes in their games. Both teams seem optimistic about the trade, which could yield positive results for their respective campaigns in their leagues.
