Democrats propose S. Skvernelis' advisor for the place of A. Silickienė, who is under suspicion in the VRK
Democrats are proposing S. Skvernelis’ advisor as a replacement for A. Silickienė amidst ongoing corruption investigations.
The Lithuanian Democrats have registered a resolution project that suggests an advisor to former Prime Minister S. Skvernelis as a replacement for A. Silickienė in the Central Electoral Commission (VRK), who is currently under suspicion. I. Barišauskė, the proposed individual, has worked as a legal advisor to S. Skvernelis and is currently his advisor in the parliament. The current VRK consists of the chairperson Lina Petronienė and 11 other members, with a total of 12 positions filled mainly by representatives of the parties that succeeded in the last parliamentary elections, while the president, the justice minister, and the Lithuanian Bar Association each propose 2 members.
