In an interview with the magazine 'Ieva', singer Olga Rajecka reminisced about her first encounter with her husband, sound engineer Ivo Bankavs, emphasizing the significant moments that led to their happy marriage over the past 12 years. Their meeting took place in 2013 during a Latvia Television program called 'Lai top!', which was seeking well-known individuals with backgrounds in folk dancing, choirs, and music.
Olga recounts how she invited the middle-aged ensemble 'Rotaļa XO' to participate in the program, along with its director, Ginta Bauma. During their first rehearsal, a twist occurred when Ivo was left without a dance partner due to her late arrival. At that moment, Olga entered the hall, and the director decided to pair them up, despite an underlying tension from a previous incident where they had a conflict after a concert in Liepāja.
The initial awkwardness was palpable for Olga, as she recalled having a negative interaction with Ivo during the concert, which made her apprehensive about dancing with him. Despite her earlier fears about confronting him, Olga indicated that this meeting, infused with both nervousness and excitement, laid the foundation for their relationship, ultimately leading to their marriage and a shared journey over the past 12 years.
