The Kauge festival, known for its focus on alternative music and club culture, is set to take place for the third consecutive year in Tartu on May 16 at the Peetri factory complex. This year’s lineup includes prominent acts such as DJ Maria from Japan and Romanian producer Raresh, highlighting the festival's growing international appeal. The event is part of Tartu’s main program leading up to 2024, showcasing the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
Organizers have announced significant enhancements to the festival's nighttime programming, which will now feature three stages hosting over 15 performers. Brett-Peter Rästas, one of the festival’s organizers, noted that the Kauge format has proven its worth over the past two years and emphasized their commitment to further developing the event. Changes made on the venue from the previous year include improvements for audience experience, such as a leveled dance floor and more visitor-friendly lighting solutions.
A particular focus this year is on high-quality production, as the festival will utilize a premier sound system from Funktion-One for the first time. This commitment to providing a superior auditory experience reflects the organizers' dedication to evolving the festival and ensuring it stands out among similar events in the region. As Tartu prepares for the Kauge festival, it positions itself as an emerging hub for cultural and musical experiences in Estonia, promising a unique atmosphere for festival-goers.
