Candidates Junya Ogawa and Takeshi Deka Declare Candidacy for Center-Right Leadership Election, Kenta Izumi Decides Not to Run

Junya Ogawa and Takeshi Deka have announced their candidacies for the leadership election of the Center-Right Reform Union in Japan, while Kenta Izumi has opted not to participate.

On November 11, the Center-Right Reform Union in Japan held a general assembly in Tokyo, where it officially announced the schedule for its leadership election, set for December 12th and 13th. Following the assembly, both Junya Ogawa (54), a representative from Kagawa, and Takeshi Deka (59), a representative from Iwate, declared their intention to run. Ogawa, a former Secretary-General of the Constitutional Democratic Party, expressed his commitment to taking on the challenges of leadership, stating, 'One should pick up the chestnuts from the fire themselves and strive to achieve good results.' Deka shared similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of building a foundation for the center-right.
