Russia-Ukraine War. Day 1449

SBU counterintelligence arrested a 33-year-old Ukrainian State Railway employee for allegedly sharing military logistics with Russia, amid ongoing drone attacks causing civilian casualties.

In the continuing turmoil of the Russia-Ukraine war, counterintelligence from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a 33-year-old employee of the Ukrainian State Railway. This individual is accused of relaying sensitive information regarding the location of heavy Ukrainian military equipment to Russian forces. Such intelligence is believed to have been utilized by Russia to conduct missile strikes and aerial bombardments against Ukrainian positions. The suspect faces a potential prison sentence of up to eight years for these serious allegations.

In a separate incident, Ukrainian sappers successfully removed remnants of a bomb known as the ODAB-1500 from the center of Kramatorsk, further highlighting the ongoing threat posed by unexploded ordnance in conflict-affected areas. The Emergency Services of Ukraine disseminated images and recordings of this operation on their Facebook page, underscoring the continuous efforts of Ukrainian authorities to mitigate the dangers from military remnants left by the ongoing hostilities.

Tragically, a recent drone strike by Russian forces resulted in the deaths of four individuals in Bogoduchiv, a residential area in the Kharkiv Oblast. The Ukrainian Emergency Services reported that the bodies recovered from the debris included a 34-year-old man and three children, aged two years and under. Two others were injured in this devastating attack, illustrating the grim reality faced by civilians caught in the crossfire of this protracted conflict and the urgent need for international support to address the humanitarian crisis stemming from the war.
