However, an official report from the FBI indicates that Trump communicated with Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter shortly after the police initiated their investigation into Epstein's actions in July 2006, expressing relief that Epstein was being stopped and stating, 'Everyone knew he was doing that.' This contradicts Trump's earlier claims of ignorance about Epstein's activities.

The FBI's findings, sourced from an interview with Reiter, reveal that Trump was one of the first individuals to reach out regarding the Epstein investigation. He reportedly expelled Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club and commented on the general public sentiment in New York regarding Epstein's reputation as being widely known and reviled. Trump also suggested that authorities focus on Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's girlfriend and accomplice, referring to her as 'part of Epstein's operations,' which implies his awareness of the broader implications of Epstein's activities.

The White House Press Secretary, Caroline Levitt, commented on the disclosed conversation, suggesting that while such an incident could have occurred in 2006, she was unable to confirm specific details.
