Four individuals allegedly linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) were arrested in Uruapan, Michoacán, as part of a security operation aimed at restoring peace and justice in the region.
In Uruapan, Michoacán, as part of the 'Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice', law enforcement officials have arrested four individuals suspected of being members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The arrests were confirmed by the State Attorney General's Office, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat organized crime in the area, which has been plagued by violence linked to drug trafficking and extortion. Two of the detained individuals were found in possession of cartel messages and evidence related to a homicide investigation.
The first arrests involved Pedro Alonso 'N', 21, and Antonio 'N', 23. They were apprehended with three posters containing messages from the CJNG and are believed to have been involved in a murder case in the Del Valle neighborhood, reportedly motivated by extortion. Additionally, they were found with 11 doses of methamphetamine, seven cartridges of different calibers, and a vehicle believed to be integral to their operations. The presence of latex gloves stained with blood raises significant concerns regarding the violent nature of their activities.
Further operations led to the arrest of José Rodolfo 'N', 25, and Hilario 'N', 49, in the Doctores neighborhood. They are suspected of the illegal confinement of a woman, underlining the alarming issue of kidnapping associated with cartel activities in Michoacán. These developments are part of a broader campaign to dismantle criminal organizations in the region, aiming to restore safety and security for the local population, which has suffered from widespread violence and crime.
