A group of musicians will honor the late Verónica Ituarte's legacy at a concert in Mexico City on February 12.

On Thursday, February 12, musicians will gather at the Blas Galindo Auditorium in the National Arts Center (CENART) in Mexico City to celebrate the life and contributions of Verónica Ituarte, a beloved music teacher and a significant figure in the jazz community. One of her students, singer Ingrid Beaujean, emphasized that Ituarte's influence transcended generations, empowering many women in music and leaving a profound impact on her students.

In an interview, Beaujean recalled the essential lessons she learned from Ituarte, particularly the importance of language in jazz, the courage required to perform, and the deep connection with music that Ituarte inspired in her students. The concert will feature Ituarte's former band, led by Lalo Méndez, alongside various artists who will pay tribute to her enduring legacy through their performances.

The event aims to honor not just her musical contributions but also her role as a mentor and guide in the lives of many aspiring musicians.
