Hamad was previously deported from Australia earlier in 2023 and has since been held in a secure location in Iraq, raising significant concerns about organized crime operations linked to the tobacco trade in Australia. The release of these images marks a pivotal moment in the AFP's ongoing investigation, termed Operation Carmen, which has been intensively focused on dismantling the syndicate.
