Levandi: Malinin has already completed the quintuple jump

Arlet Levandi speculates that Ilja Malinin has already performed a quintuple jump, waiting for the right moment to include it in his routine.

In a recent appearance on ETV's sports show, figure skating coach Arlet Levandi expressed his belief that Ilja Malinin, a talented figure skater, has already executed a quintuple jump during practice but is waiting for the right moment to incorporate it into competition. Levandi's comments come ahead of the men's short program at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, shedding light on the high-performance expectations set for elite skaters.

Levandi also discussed the performance of Aleksandr Selevko, who aimed to score between 88 and 92 points but unfortunately fell during his routine, finishing with a score of 82.02 points. Despite the mishap, Levandi emphasized the importance of teamwork and the support within the Estonian figure skating team, noting that the culture of honest competition has significantly enhanced their performance on the ice over recent years.

He detailed how the national team has cultivated a supportive atmosphere among both senior and junior skaters, leading to mutual encouragement and improvement. According to Levandi, this collective effort has played a crucial role in elevating Estonian figure skating to a new level, enabling their athletes to stay competitive on the international stage, particularly with the upcoming Olympic games in mind.
