City Council of Cristinápolis declares the termination of a councilor's mandate due to excessive absences

The City Council of Cristinápolis has terminated councilor Landerrobson Jairon dos Santos Ribeiro's mandate due to excessive unjustified absences in 2025.

The City Council of Cristinápolis has officially terminated the mandate of councilor Landerrobson Jairon dos Santos Ribeiro, popularly known as Landinho, due to excessive unjustified absences from ordinary sessions in 2025. The decision, announced in the municipality's Official Gazette, highlights the councilor's failure to attend more than a third of the sessions without proper justification.

According to the regulations that govern the council's operations, including the Municipal Organic Law and Federal Decree-Law No. 201/1967, a councilor automatically loses their position if they are absent from more than a third of the sessions in a legislative period without valid reasons. In 2025, the council held a total of 43 ordinary sessions, of which Landinho attended only 21, providing justification for only one absence, leading to 21 unjustified absences.

This decision marks a significant action by the City Council in enforcing attendance regulations and ensuring accountability among elected officials. It reflects the municipality's commitment to maintaining active participation in local governance and serves as a reminder to other councilors about the importance of their attendance and responsibilities towards their constituents.
