"The boy got away with little" - An adult man intentionally ran over a schoolboy

A 36-year-old man was sentenced for intentionally running over a 14-year-old boy last September during an altercation over a suspected bicycle theft.

A 36-year-old man has been sentenced for his actions last September when he intentionally ran over a 14-year-old boy. The incident began when the driver confronted the boy, demanding that he stop to discuss an allegedly stolen bicycle. In a panic, the boy attempted to flee on his bicycle, using all his speed to escape the aggressive driver.

As the boy rode away, he first took refuge on a pedestrian path before turning onto a narrow sandy road leading to a sports field. Unfortunately, the car was faster and soon caught up to the boy at a rest area. The vehicle collided with the boy's rear wheel, forcing him to continue his escape, but moments later, the car plowed into him again, causing the boy to be thrown off his bike onto the grass, narrowly missing a nearby metal electrical cabinet. He sustained bruises but fortunately managed to run away.

A passerby witnessed the distressing situation and attempted to intervene, but the angry driver threatened him. This incident raises serious concerns about road safety, vigilantism, and how altercations can escalate dangerously, especially involving minors. It highlights the urgent need for better community awareness and protection measures for children on the roads, particularly regarding their safety when dealing with aggressive adults.
