Bane Nor will work on the Vestfold Line
Bane Nor is set to undertake work on the Vestfold Line from Drammen to Stokke starting February 15 until March 27, 2026, with bus replacements available for trains during the construction.
Bane Nor has announced a scheduled maintenance operation on the Vestfold Line, specifically the segment stretching from Drammen to Stokke. The work is planned to commence on Sunday, February 15, and is expected to last until Friday, March 27, 2026. Daily operations will be affected between the hours of 01:00 and 05:00, necessitating service adjustments for passengers during these overnight hours.
In light of the disruption to regular train service, VY, the train operator, will provide bus replacements for the affected trains during the construction period. This measure aims to minimize the impact on travelers and ensure continued access to transportation options for those who rely on the rail service for their daily commutes or travel plans.
The maintenance work is part of ongoing efforts to improve the railway infrastructure in Norway, particularly in the Vestfold and Telemark regions. Such upgrades are crucial for maintaining safety standards and improving the efficiency of train services, and although they may cause inconveniences in the short term, they are intended to enhance the overall travel experience in the long run.
