On Sunday evening, October 8, law enforcement intervened in a domestic violence incident inside a bakery located near a carnival event in Timon, Maranhão. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) responded to reports from bystanders who witnessed the assault. When they arrived, officers found the male suspect physically assaulting the female victim, who was already on the ground and unconscious.

The suspect, a 42-year-old man, was subdued and taken into custody by the PRF officers. Meanwhile, the victim, a 39-year-old woman, was immediately attended to by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU). Paramedics reported that she had sustained visible injuries, including a bruise to her head, raising concerns about her health condition and the severity of the assault.
