A French man is accused of sexually assaulting 89 minors across eight countries between 1967 and 2022.

A French man, now 79 years old, has been accused of sexually assaulting 89 minors in eight different countries between the years 1967 and 2022. Le Parisien reports that the former teacher has been under investigation after being arrested in 2024 on charges of rape and sexual violence. Public prosecutor Etienne Manteaux from Grenoble, France, described the case as rare and is optimistic that potential witnesses will come forward with more information.

The investigation began when authorities uncovered material from a USB drive, which contained the suspect’s writings describing so-called "sexual relationships" with victims aged between 13 to 17 years. These alleged crimes occurred in various countries including Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Niger, Algeria, the Philippines, India, Colombia, and New Caledonia, a French territory. The suspect worked as a freelance teacher and cave exploration guide, according to the prosecutor's remarks reported by AFP.

In addition to the accusations of sexual assault, the man has also reportedly confessed to murdering his mother and aunt, with his mother suffering from severe cancer at the time. This shocking revelation raises concerns about the extent of his criminal conduct and the potential for further investigations into his past activities. As the case unfolds, it highlights the challenges law enforcement faces in dealing with such international crimes against vulnerable minors and the imperative for justice for the victims involved.
