The European Commission presents a plan to protect young people from cyberbullying
The European Commission has unveiled an action plan aimed at protecting young people from cyberbullying, including the creation of a Europe-wide app for victims.
On Tuesday, the European Commission introduced an action plan designed to safeguard young people from the threats of cyberbullying. This initiative includes the development of a pan-European app tailored for each EU member state, which is intended to assist child victims in accessing help lines and reporting cases of online abuse. The announcement was made by the Vice-President of the European Commission, Henna Virkkunen. She emphasized that children and young people have the right to safely use the internet, which cyberbullying fundamentally undermines by causing distress, loneliness, and humiliation.
