MP requests to cite social media agent of Abin who is a YouTuber

The Brazilian Federal Public Ministry has requested to notify YouTuber Glauber Mendonça via social media regarding his alleged promotion of hate speech and police violence.

The Federal Public Ministry in Rio de Janeiro (MPF-RJ) has made a request to notify YouTuber Glauber Mendonça through social media after over a year of unsuccessful attempts to reach him. Mendonça, who runs the channel "Fala, Glauber" with more than three million subscribers, identifies as a correctional officer but is actually an official with the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN). Currently on medical leave, he claims to dedicate up to 16 hours a day to video production on his platform.

This legal action, taken by the MPF-RJ in collaboration with the Public Defender's Office of the Union (DPU), stems from allegations against Mendonça for spreading hate speech and inciting police violence. His channel has previously faced content suspension by Google due to these allegations, yet since April 2024, Mendonça has been uncontactable for notification purposes.

Attempts by enforcement officers to locate him began in Brasília, where his father provided a new address, also in the capital. The situation highlights the intersection of social media influence and legal accountability, especially regarding content that promotes violence or hate in the context of law enforcement.
