Curitiba Carnival 2026: see the parade schedule
Curitiba's Carnival 2026 will feature parades from ten samba schools and various celebrations, set to occur from February 14-15.
The Carnival 2026 in Curitiba is set to take place on February 14-15, featuring traditional parades along Rua Marechal Deodoro, where five samba schools from the Special Group and five from the Access Group will showcase their performances. In addition to the parades, the festival will offer a range of activities including different blocks, children's balls, and the iconic Zombie Walk on February 15, which will occur in the São Francisco neighborhood and culminate at Praça Santos Andrade.
To accommodate the event, traffic will be affected with road closures starting from Rua Barão do Rio Branco to Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto. During the day, Marechal Deodoro will experience partial closures from 8 AM to 8 PM, while at night from 8 PM to 5 AM, there will be total traffic restrictions. Consequently, public transportation services in the area will also be modified during these times to ensure safety and order during the festivities.
This year's celebrations are expected to attract a large number of visitors, further highlighting Curitiba's vibrant cultural scene. With a mix of samba parades, lively street activities, and community participation, the event is poised to provide a festive atmosphere that embodies the spirit of carnival in Brazil, while also managing the logistics necessary to host such a large-scale event for both locals and tourists alike.
