Klæbo King in the OS Sprint - Myhlback and Grahn Missed the Final

Swedish cross-country skiers Alvar Myhlback and Anton Grahn missed the final sprint event at the Olympics, with Myhlback making it to the semis and Grahn performing strongly in his quarterfinal.

The Olympic sprint event saw Sweden's Alvar Myhlback as the fastest among his compatriots, although he finished just over seven seconds behind the favorite, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. Myhlback, along with teammates Edvin Anger and Anton Grahn, competed against stiff competition, placing 19th and 25th respectively. Johan Häggström nervously waited for the finishing skiers to confirm his qualification as the 30th and final competitor in the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinal rounds, Myhlback and Grahn faced challenging conditions and strong competitors. Despite having less grip, Myhlback maneuvered past a couple of rivals to secure a second-place finish in his heat, advancing to the semifinals alongside the American Ben Ogden. Meanwhile, Grahn delivered an impressive performance in the last quarterfinal, winning comfortably with a sizeable lead. Ultimately, both Myhlback and Grahn were unable to reach the final, with Myhlback competing fiercely against Klæbo in the semifinals. Klæbo has remained a dominant force in cross-country skiing, and Myhlback's and Grahn's performances, while commendable, reflect the tough competition at the Olympic level.
