More than 130 approved candidates in public security competitions are called in AM; see vacancies
Over 130 approved candidates for public security positions in Amazonas have been summoned for various roles within the state's police forces.
The Amazonas State Military Police announced that they will be adding 1,350 new police officers to their ranks. This comes as part of a broader initiative to enhance the state's security forces, with 134 candidates approved in public competitions officially called for positions within the Civil Police of Amazonas (PC-AM) and the State Security Secretariat (SSP-AM). The announcement of these appointments is part of a larger package involving a total of 847 appointments, as disclosed at the end of 2025.
The names of the newly approved candidates were published in the Official State Gazette (DOE-AM) on March 6, 2025, and were made public on March 9. Those summoned have a period of 30 days from the publication date to submit required documentation, undergo medical examinations, and complete the onboarding process. This timely approach reflects the government's commitment to bolster public safety and operational effectiveness in law enforcement.
Governor Wilson Lima stated that this call follows a predetermined schedule established last year, aimed specifically at strengthening both the operational and administrative aspects of public safety in Amazonas. The newly summoned professionals will include 96 members for the Civil Police, comprising diverse roles such as 16 inspectors and 25 agents, thereby addressing critical staffing needs and enhancing the capacity of the state's security apparatus.
