Polish border guards reported the apprehension of a Lithuanian citizen who attempted to illegally transport four Ethiopian nationals into Western Europe. The man initially dropped off the migrants on the Lithuanian side of the border before crossing into Poland himself, where he intended to pick them up. The migrants, who crossed the border on foot, possessed regular permits from an asylum center in Latvia, complicating the situation further for the Lithuanian transporters.

Following a legal process, the migrants will be returned to Lithuania, while the Lithuanian individual faces serious legal repercussions in Poland. Under Polish law, he could potentially face up to eight years in prison for violating border regulations aimed at managing migration and protecting national security.
