On February 6, a tragic accident occurred outside Høvik school in Lier, resulting in the death of 14-year-old Ludvik Wøien Gilhuus. The incident was reported to the police just after it occurred, detailing that a young boy had been hit by a reversing vehicle. Emergency services arrived promptly and attempted to provide life-saving measures, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful in saving his life.

Police prosecutor Haldis Framstad Skaare informed that authorities are starting to piece together the details of the event through interviews with the vehicle's driver and preliminary technical inspections. The investigation is still ongoing, with plans to interview witnesses and obtain reports from forensic examinations as well as analysis by the Road Traffic Accident Analysis Group.

The family of Ludvik has expressed their grief and gratitude through a statement, emphasizing their unity during this difficult time. They have also requested that their privacy be respected while they come to terms with their loss, which has deeply affected their community.
