Judge Peinado gives La Moncloa 10 days to deliver all emails from Begoña Gómez and requests data from Interior on her flights and those of her advisor
Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has ordered La Moncloa to provide all emails from Begoña Gómez and flight data for her and her advisor within 10 days, as part of an investigation into possible malfeasance.
Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has set a 10-day deadline for La Moncloa to submit all emails sent and received by Begoña Gómez using her official account since her husband, Pedro Sánchez, became President of the Government in 2018. This directive is part of an investigation into potential malfeasance allegations involving Gómez, who is the spouse of the Spanish Prime Minister. The judge has tasked the UCO (Central Operational Unit) to analyze these emails in detail, emphasizing the seriousness of the investigation.
In the same ruling, Judge Peinado has demanded the Ministry of the Interior provide information on the air travel undertaken by Begoña Gómez and her advisor, Cristina Álvarez, during the same period. The requested data is to be obtained from the National Passenger Information Office (ONIP), which is part of the Intelligence Center for Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime and was established after September 11 to assist in preventing serious crimes and terrorism.
Peinado has stressed that failure to comply with this 10-day deadline could lead to charges of judicial disobedience against those responsible for submitting the required information. This investigation not only highlights issues related to the transparency and accountability of public officials but also has potential legal ramifications for those involved, igniting further scrutiny into the operations of the current government in Spain.
