Gold prices in Egypt today Tuesday

Global gold prices declined on Tuesday but remained above $5000 per ounce, with local prices in Egypt reflecting similar trends.

On Tuesday, global gold prices experienced a drop of 0.7%, settling at $5022 per ounce, while silver prices fell by 3% to $80.83 per ounce. Despite the global decline, gold prices in Egypt remained notably high. This indicates a complex interplay between international market movements and local demand and currency valuation in Egypt.

In Egypt, the most commonly traded gold standard, 21 karat, was priced at 6780 Egyptian pounds per gram in today's market. The prices for different gold standards were recorded as follows on the 'Aisaga' platform: 24 karat at 7725 pounds, 22 karat at 7082 pounds, 18 karat at 5794 pounds, 14 karat at 4506 pounds, and 12 karat at 3862 pounds. The cost for a gold pound was set at 54080 pounds, highlighting the significant investment in precious metals amidst ongoing economic fluctuations.

These prices are exclusive of manufacturing costs, hallmarking fees, and taxes, which can add substantial additional costs for buyers. The movements in gold and silver prices are closely monitored not only due to their investment appeal but also their impact on local markets and economies such as Egypt, where gold is a traditional safeguard against inflation and currency volatility.
