The Allahabad High Court granted relief to ASP Anuj Chaudhary and former Inspector Anuj Tomar by staying a lower court order that had instructed the registration of an FIR against them.
On Monday, the Allahabad High Court provided significant relief to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anuj Chaudhary and former Inspector Anuj Tomar by issuing a stay on the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court's directive to register an FIR against them. The CJM court had previously ordered legal action against approximately 20 police officers, including Chaudhary, based on a complaint lodging on January 9, which was handled under section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code. Following the hearing of both the ASP and the Uttar Pradesh government's petition, Justice Samit Gopal issued the interim order.
