The specialized court in Slovakia is making a renewed attempt to decide whether Marian Kočner and Alena Zsuzsová were involved in orchestrating the murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak. This marks the third trial for the duo, who have had previously mixed legal outcomes. In past rulings, the court controversially acquitted Kočner twice, stating that there was insufficient evidence to firmly conclude his involvement in the murder. However, there was a significant decision in May 2023 when Zsuzsová was found guilty and sentenced to 25 years for her role, a verdict that raised eyebrows due to its unexpected nature within the larger context of the case.
