From neutral to total color: an interior designer aligned this apartment with the personality of its owners
An interior designer transformed a neutral-toned apartment in Belgrano, Argentina, into a colorful reflection of its owner's personality.
The apartment, located on the tenth floor in Belgrano, had undergone a complete renovation a year prior, featuring new glass joinery, a completely rebuilt kitchen and bathroom, and pristine flooring, adequately serving the needs of a family of three. However, the interior design originally chosen was safe and neutral, utilizing wooden furniture and fabrics in muted tones, which left Yani, the homeowner, feeling unrepresented in her personal space.
Yani's passion for color, textiles, art, and unique objects clashed with the monochromatic theme of her home. The designer, Agustina Cerato, from Estudio AC, recognized this disconnect and worked to provide a vibrant solution that resonated with Yani's true self. According to Cerato, the goal was to create a living space that was not only beautiful but also infused with personality, transforming the apartment into a lively home that truly reflects the family’s dynamics.
This transformation highlights the importance of personal expression in interior design, where the environment can significantly enhance one’s sense of identity and belonging. Yani’s now colorful home stands as a testament to how tailored design can effectively bridge the gap between one’s aesthetic desires and their living space, leading to a more authentic and fulfilling home life.
