CAC processes 10,000 daily registrations after AI rollout
The Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria now processes around 10,000 business registration requests daily due to the implementation of artificial intelligence, a significant increase from previous years.
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria announced a remarkable increase in its daily business registration processes, now reaching close to 10,000 requests thanks to the deployment of artificial intelligence across its platforms. This milestone represents a substantial improvement from the 'few hundreds' of registrations that were typical in the early years of the commission, showcasing the potential of technology to streamline and enhance public service delivery.
Despite this impressive growth, the Registrar-General of the CAC, Hussaini Magaji, acknowledged that the transition to an AI-driven portal did not come without its challenges. He noted that there were disruptions and temporary setbacks in productivity and service delivery during the rollout in 2025. These issues, while regrettable, underscore the complexities involved in implementing new technology within public service systems.
The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the CAC's 35th anniversary celebration in Abuja, which highlighted the commission's transformation and evolution since its inception in 1991. The event, themed 'Upholding Public Trust through Excellent Service Delivery,' served not only to celebrate the achievements of the CAC but also to reinforce its commitment to fostering economic formalization in Nigeria. This advancement in processing capabilities is a pivotal step towards enhancing the ease of doing business in the country, aligning with broader economic goals and supporting entrepreneurs.
