A dramatic video shared on social media shows Brazilian Army soldiers in Itaituba, Pará, rescuing a dog that had been attacked by a three-meter long anaconda. The incident took place within the premises of the 53rd Jungle Infantry Battalion, located close to a wooded area, and it quickly caught the attention of onlookers due to the tense nature of the rescue operation. In the distressing footage, the snake is seen coiled around the immobile dog, prompting the soldiers to carefully strategize their approach.

To safely extricate the dog from the anaconda's grip, the military personnel used teamwork to drag the snake to a paved area, minimizing the risk of injury to both the dog and themselves. With the collaborative efforts of three soldiers and careful handling, they managed to persuade the snake to release its hold on the dog. Eyewitnesses reported that once freed, the soldiers performed resuscitation maneuvers on the dog, which was visibly shaken but ultimately recovered and is now reported to be in good health.

Following the successful rescue, the soldiers contacted environmental authorities to remove the anaconda from the Army base. The snake was safely relocated to a more suitable environment, preventing any further potential harm to other animals or local residents in the area. This incident not only demonstrates the commitment of the Army in ensuring the safety of animals but also raises awareness about wildlife interactions in urban settings.
