500 million pesos will be invested in a water treatment plant in Morelia
The Michoacán government plans to invest 500 million pesos to construct a new water treatment plant in Morelia, benefiting over 300,000 residents.
The government of Michoacán is addressing the historical debt it owes to the residents of Morelia by investing in a new water treatment plant that will significantly enhance the water supply for the city’s population. More than 300,000 inhabitants in western Morelia will benefit from this project, ensuring both a reliable water supply and improved service quality. This initiative is part of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice, marking a commitment to infrastructure development in the region.
The investment of 500 million pesos is a collaborative effort involving the National Water Commission (Conagua) along with state and municipal governments, aimed at upgrades to the municipal water supply systems. Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla emphasized that this new facility will increase the city's water treatment capacity by up to 35%, working in conjunction with the existing Vista Bella plant, both managed by the local Water Supply and Sanitation Operator.
The new plant will be constructed in Morelos, on land donated by the state government, indicating a significant step in the area's infrastructure expansion. This project is expected to not only solve immediate water supply challenges but also improve service quality and reliability for the local population, fostering better living conditions and community well-being in Morelia.
