Nigeria, US discussed training, joint military exercises— DHQ
Nigeria and the United States have engaged in discussions regarding military training, joint exercises, and other collaborative efforts to enhance security cooperation.
The Defence Headquarters of Nigeria announced on Monday that discussions between the Nigerian and United States militaries have taken place, focusing on various areas of cooperation including military training and joint exercises. The talks involved high-profile figures such as President Bola Tinubu and military leaders, highlighting the strategic importance of Nigeria-US relations in the defense sector.
Major General Samila Uba, Director of Defence Information, emphasized that the discussions also included a review of existing security cooperation and the identification of opportunities for future collaborations. This signifies a proactive approach to address security challenges and reinforce military capabilities within Nigeria.
The engagement covered topics related to capacity building through tailored training and the development of future military forces.
