The Government has removed files from the Motor Vehicle Registries and is advancing modifications in the system
The Argentine government has initiated the removal of inactive files from the Motor Vehicle Registries as part of a move towards centralization and total digitization of the registration system.
The Argentine government has taken a significant step forward in modernizing the Motor Vehicle Registries by removing files that have been inactive for 15 years. This action, published in the Official Bulletin, reflects an ongoing effort to streamline and digitize the registry process across the country. The government aims to centralize the documentation, making it more accessible and efficient for vehicle owners and operators.
SebastiΓ‘n Amerio, the Secretary of Justice, explained that the inactive files will be transferred to a centralized archive under the National Directorate of Motor Vehicle Registries (DNRPA). This relocation is part of a broader strategy that includes the elimination of 60 forms previously used in these registries, indicating a focused move towards a more digital and less bureaucratic system. The new resolution allows a period of 15 working days for local registries to organize and prepare the type B files for transfer, ensuring a systematic transition.
This change not only impacts the efficiency of handling vehicle registrations but also the accessibility of information for rightful property owners. Once relocated to the Centralized Archive, owners will have the opportunity to access their files for any associated transactions or inquiries, marking an important shift towards a more organized and user-friendly vehicle registration process in Argentina.
