VIDEO: Kittens rescued from garbage bags at bus station in PI; one died

Three newborn kittens were found in plastic garbage bags at a bus station in Campo Maior, Northern Piauí, Brazil, with one dying shortly after rescue.

Three newborn kittens were discovered inside plastic garbage bags at a bus station in Campo Maior, Northern Piauí, during the early hours of Monday, November 9. Sadly, one of the kittens did not survive, passing away a few hours post-rescue. The kittens were found alongside food scraps, prompting local residents who heard their cries to step in and record the rescue.

One of the kittens has been adopted, while the other two are under the care of the NGO Adote Campo Maior. Currently, only one of the remaining kittens is alive but in a delicate condition. The organization is actively searching for a "nursing mother" cat, as they have not been able to find the biological mother of the kittens. It is essential for the newborn to be fed by another cat to ensure they receive the correct nutrition and warmth.

In addition, the NGO is waiting for security camera footage from the area where the kittens were found in an attempt to identify the individual responsible for their abandonment. This incident raises awareness about the issue of animal abandonment and the need for responsible pet ownership in the region, highlighting both the community's compassion in rescuing the animals and the ongoing efforts to provide them with care and safe environments.
