Elevator Falls from the Fourth Floor, Injuring Pyramids Youth Team Seriously
The Pyramids youth team faced a serious incident when an elevator fell in a hotel in Alexandria, Egypt, injuring several players ahead of their match.
The Pyramids youth team, specifically the under-16 group, experienced a tragic accident when an elevator collapsed in a hotel in Alexandria on Monday while the team prepared for an upcoming match against Haras El Hedood in the league. Following a technical briefing, the players entered the elevator, which fell from the fourth floor, leading to alarming injuries and panic among the team members.
The head of the Pyramids youth sector, Islam Shukri, spoke about the incident during a radio interview, revealing that more than seven players sustained serious injuries, with some experiencing fainting spells and critical conditions. The nature of the incident has raised concerns not only about the players' immediate well-being but also about safety protocols in the facilities being used by sports teams for training and preparation.
In response to the accident, the Pyramids management has reached out to the Egyptian Football Association, requesting a postponement of their scheduled match against Haras El Hedood. Initial communication indicated a lack of immediate response from the football association, but subsequent hours have seen discussions and attempts to address the situation, reflecting the urgency imposed by the serious nature of the incident involving the young athletes.
