Bödör and Gašpar Will Go to Court / The Supreme Court Dismissed the Defense's Complaint Against the Indictment in the Očistec Case

The Supreme Court of Slovakia has dismissed the defense's complaint regarding the indictment acceptance in the Očistec case, meaning that key figures like Norbert Bödör and Tibor Gašpar will face trial.

The Supreme Court of Slovakia has ruled against the defense's complaint regarding the acceptance of the indictment by the Special Criminal Court in the Očistec case. This decision signifies that individuals closely connected to former Prime Minister Robert Fico, such as Norbert Bödör, Tibor Gašpar, and Dušan Kováčik, are now set to stand trial. Marek Para, the attorney, confirmed that the ruling was added to the electronic file today and will soon be delivered to the parties involved.

The Supreme Court's dismissal of the complaint occurred last December, paving the way for the Special Criminal Court to establish trial dates. The judicial panel overseeing the case will be led by Judge Peter Pulman, accompanied by judges Rastislav Stieranka and Beáta Medveďová. This case has garnered significant attention due to its implications involving high-profile figures associated with political corruption and organized crime in Slovakia.

The Očistec case marks one of the most serious investigations, following numerous arrests by the former National Criminal Agency in 2020. Among those detained was former police president Tibor Gašpar, who, alongside oligarch Norbert Bödör, is suspected of having established a criminal organization. The upcoming trial is expected to reveal more details about their alleged activities and connections, which could have wider ramifications for Slovakia's political landscape.
