Marin Piletić removed from ministerial position: It is also known who will replace him

Marin Piletić has been dismissed as Croatia's Minister of Labour, Pension System, Family, and Social Policy, with Alen Ružić set to take his place.

Marin Piletić, who served as Croatia's Minister of Labour, Pension System, Family, and Social Policy, has been removed from his post following a court's directive for the payment of an inclusive allowance to the heirs of deceased individuals. This decision has been linked to rising tensions and scrutiny surrounding Piletić’s management of social policies. The court's order has put additional pressure on the minister, leading to his dismissal.

Alen Ružić, the current director of KBC Rijeka, has been appointed as Piletić's successor, marking a significant shift in leadership within the ministry. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković stated that he had discussed the situation with Piletić, who reportedly felt exhausted by the demands of his ministerial responsibilities. Ružić's appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the ministry at a time when social issues are becoming increasingly prominent in Croatian society.

Plenković praised Piletić for his accomplishments during his tenure, highlighting achievements such as the highest employment rates ever recorded, the implementation of job activation measures, and the establishment of care centers for the elderly. However, the transition in leadership may also reflect a need for more decisive action and responsiveness to pressing social concerns, particularly in light of the recent court ruling and its implications for the beneficiaries of social programs in Croatia.
