C. Ronaldo Ends Strike Action
Cristiano Ronaldo has ended his protest against Al Nassr after resolving issues with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the 41-year-old Portuguese player representing the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, has announced that he will participate in the upcoming league match against Al Fateh on February 14. His protest reportedly stemmed from his dissatisfaction with how the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) supported rival club Al Hilal in acquiring French player Karim Benzema. Media reports indicate that disagreements between Ronaldo and PIF have now been resolved, allowing him to return to the field.
In addition to the issues with PIF, journalist Irene Palma from the Portuguese outlet A Bola reported that Ronaldo's strike was also connected to unpaid wages for club employees. These financial discrepancies appear to have been addressed, as Al Nassr has paid the overdue wages to its staff. With the situation normalized, Ronaldo is set to continue his mission of scoring his 1,000th career goal.
Al Nassr currently sits in second place in the league, and Ronaldo's return is expected to bolster the team's performance as they strive for the championship. This resolution not only signifies a personal victory for Ronaldo but also highlights the potential impact of player protests on league operations and management practices in Saudi Arabian football.
